Old-Fashioned Romance

I will blow air
into your mouth
like this
it’s called a kiss
oh
and I’m holding your collar
right here
just in case
you try to run away
and go play stickball
or something with Billy
because Jilly told me
that’s what boys do
she called it
the cruelty of love
okay now close your eyes
and hold still
perfect
