Twilight is seductively meek.
Every day, at day’s end,
it inherits the earth
through valentine quivers
and softcore volitions of symmetry—
the sky, at its supple mercy,
bruises so easily,
pale liminal purple
adoring the tenderest wounds
between lovers merging nightly.
